Extraordinary Extinct™ Story Time: Crystal Palace Dinosaurs

Join authors and illustrator Jill Michelle Smith and Jennifer Watson for a reading of their fascinating children’s book ‘Extraordinary Extinct™ Crystal Palace Dinosaurs’. Still standing in Crystal Palace Park today, these prehistoric creatures were built as life-sized sculptures in 1854 and show how the Victorians thought prehistoric life would have looked and lived. Enjoy learning about some of the first fossils ever discovered, how they were brought to life and the people who shaped our understanding of natural history today, including Mary Anning, Charles Darwin and Richard Owen. Jill and Jennifer are the face of Dodo and Dinosaur, an independent publisher and design studio based in Norfolk, specialising in bringing natural history to life for little explorers. Their books are approved by palaeontologists, supported by museums and recommended by primary teachers. Signed copies of ‘Extraordinary Extinct Crystal Palace Dinosaurs’ are available to purchase from Dodo and Dinosaur’s festival stand. This session is suitable for children aged 2-12. Babies on laps are welcome!
